About the Site
Macclesfield Campus is AstraZeneca’s second largest manufacturing site and our European centre for packing. Covering around 100 acres, at Macclesfield we manufacture, pack and distribute our medicines to 130 global markets. The Campus hosts a number of functions including Operations, Global Manufacturing and Supply, Pharmaceutical Development facilities and IS functions.

Safety
There are many hazards and risks associated with the physical assets of the Campus and the day to day activities that are carried out here. Macclesfield Campus has an excellent record of limiting the impact of these risks and ensuring a safe place to work whilst also protecting the environment. Everyone who comes on to Campus has an important role to play in keeping themselves & others safe. Your host will explain the safety rules & procedures. Please help us prevent accidents by following these rules,acting safely at all times and informing your host if you have any concerns or see anything unsafe.

Visitor passes
Your visitor pass must be worn in a visible place on your person at all times when on campus.

Cameras
Photography / video recording is not permitted on campus, without prior authorisation from the Site Manager.

Smoking
Smoking, including electronic cigarettes, is NOT permitted on Campus, only in designated areas outside of the Campus boundary.

Mobile phones
Use on the Campus is permitted, except in clearly identified areas. You cannot take a mobile phone or any electronic devices (eg smart watches, laptops, etc.) into some areas even if they are switched off. Please check with your host. For safety reasons please do not walk around Campus looking at your phone. Also please avoid any use of phones/headphones when in higher risk areas such as on staircases or where vehicles are operating.

Parking
There is designated visitors parking on the multi storey ground floor. Please do not park on double yellow lines. Remember to obtain the barrier code from Reception in order to exit the car park. Please drive considerately when on Campus and observe the one-way systems and speed limits at all times.

PPE
Should PPE be required in the area you are visiting, it will be supplied by your host. You must wear it when requested.

Energy, water, waste
Their use or production impacts the environment. Ensure you follow local instructions for disposal and use.
Intermittent Fire Alarm
Prepare to leave the building.
Continuous Fire Alarm
Immediately leave the building via the nearest safe fire exit.
Voice Sounders
Where voice sounders are installed, any vocal instructions given must be followed immediately.
